Pupil Premium

PUPIL PREMIUM

Pupil Premium Information

The Pupil Premium is a funding initiative from the government designed to help improve the educational outcomes of disadvantaged students. It is available to schools to support pupils who meet certain criteria. This includes:

  • Students eligible for Free School Meals (FSM): Pupils who have been eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years.
  • Looked-after children (LAC): Pupils who are in care or have been in care.
  • Service children: Pupils with a parent in the armed forces.

The funding is intended to provide additional support to help these students achieve their full potential, both academically and in terms of personal development.

How is the Pupil Premium used?

At our school, we use the Pupil Premium funding in a variety of ways to support our eligible students. This includes:

  • Additional intervention or small-group work: To provide targeted academic support in subjects where students may need extra help.
  • Enrichment opportunities: To ensure all students have access to extracurricular activities, helping them develop a wide range of skills.
  • Pastoral support: For students needing emotional or social support to help them thrive in school.
  • Resources and interventions: To ensure access to learning materials and technology to support individual learning needs.

Impact of Pupil Premium

We closely monitor the progress of our Pupil Premium students and regularly review the impact of the interventions in place. Our aim is to close the achievement gap and ensure that every student, regardless of background, can succeed.

🎃🍂 Pumpkin Soup Day in the Nursery! 🍂🎃

First of all, we’re sorry for the late post! 🙈📱 We’ve had a few technical difficulties, but we’re back and ready to share all the fun! 💻✨

🌟 What a fantastic Friday we had in nursery! 🌟

Our little chefs 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 got busy in the kitchen, taking it in turns to cut up the pumpkins 🎃, chop the carrots 🥕 and potatoes 🥔, and spread their own butter on their bread 🧈🍞.

There were so many wonderful skills being developed and practised, including fine motor skills ✋, hand-eye coordination 👀, turn-taking 🤝, independence 💪 and learning about healthy foods 🥦🍎.

The children worked so hard, and their efforts were rewarded with a delicious bowl of homemade pumpkin soup 🥣🎃 served with crusty bread 🍞😋.

💛 A HUGE thank you to some of our lovely parents who kindly supplied dairy-free ingredients for one of our soups 🥛🚫 and homemade bread for our afternoon children 🍞🥰. Your kindness and support are always so appreciated! 💕

We were absolutely amazed by how many children were willing to give the soup a try! 🥹👏 What fantastic little food explorers we have! 🌟 Some children even finished their entire bowl! 🥣🙌 We were so proud of everyone for being brave, trying something new and giving it their best go! 💚🎉

🍁🦔 Our autumn adventures continued! 🦔🍁

The children used our beautiful autumn treasures 🍂🍁🌰 to create a cosy little home for our class hedgehog 🦔🏡. They also enjoyed getting creative and decorating their very own pumpkins 🎃🎨. We had so much fun exploring the colours, textures and treasures that autumn brings! 🍂✨

🥰 What a wonderful way to finish the week. We hope all our wonderful families have a fantastic half term! 🎃🍂 Enjoy a well-deserved break, have lots of fun and make some special memories together. 🧡👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

🍂🎃 Reception’s Autumn Adventures! 🍁🍂

What a wonderful time we’ve had in Reception exploring all things autumn! 🧡 Our little learners have been busy discovering the magic of the season through lots of fun, hands-on activities. 🌰🍃

🔢 Counting conkers – developing our number skills as we counted, matched and explored quantities.

🎃 Pumpkin rolling – making predictions, testing our ideas and discovering what happens when we give a pumpkin a little push! Lots of learning and giggles along the way!

🍁 Comparing and sorting leaves – looking closely at their colours, shapes and sizes, spotting similarities and differences, and exploring the wonderful changes happening in the natural world around us.

We’ve seen our little learners embracing the joy of learning! We are so proud of the way the children learn through play, learn from one another and approach each new adventure with such enthusiasm! 🌟

As we finish school today for our half-term break, we wish all our lovely Reception families a happy, restful and fun-filled holiday! Enjoy making special memories, spending precious time together and perhaps discovering a few more autumn treasures along the way! 🍂🍄

🙏 God bless everyone, keep safe, and have a wonderful half term! 🙏

🐦🌿 Mini Vinnies – See, Think, Do! 🌿🐦

Our Mini Vinnies have been busy making eco-friendly bird feeders as part of the Year of St Francis, who showed such love and care for all of God’s creation. 💚

Inspired by our Mini Vinnies motto, See, Think, Do, the children have been: 👀 Seeing the beauty of nature and the wildlife around us. 💭 Thinking about how we can care for God’s creation and protect our environment. 🙌 Doing something positive by creating eco-friendly bird feeders to help our feathered friends! 🐦

Through this activity, our Mini Vinnies are putting their faith into action and showing that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. 🌍💚
Thanks to Father Emmanuel for his help today.

“Praise be to you, my Lord, through all your creatures.” – St Francis of Assisi 🙏
